Lots and Lots of Quarter Circles!
Look at this interesting layout! Anita used a neutral color palette and quarter circle blocks, arranged strategically, to create really fun optical illusions of circles disappearing behind each other. She must have had a blast arranging her blocks!
Here at Quilted Joy, we have many wideback fabrics - over 130 total. Anita took advantage of our large variety when selecting a backing for her quilt and chose Moda's Grunge fabric in grey. Although it calls itself grey, this fabric actually has grey, charcoal, and even a little tan so it is perfect to coordinate with all those neutrals.
Choosing a quilting design was fun. Sometimes, we'll suggest an angular quilting design to contrast with a quilt that is full of curves, but for Anita, the Double Bubble edge-to-edge quilting design seemed perfect. It echoes the nearly complete circles formed by her layout without competing with them. We chose a grey thread for the quilting itself.
Enjoy your gorgeous quilt, Anita! Thank you!!!
