We offer sewing machine repair and sewing machine service at Quilted Joy in Louisville, Ky with our on site, on staff Fix-it Fairies. They are factory certified and with a wave of their wands your machine will be the sewing partner you need to make your projects come to life.

Regular maintenance is necessary to keep your machine running smoothly. We recommend a yearly cleaning and adjustment to give your machine a long happy life. Plus, you’ll get a detailed report of what was done and if a part was replaced you’ll get the old part back along with your repaired machine.

If, within 60 days of the completion of the repairs, the machine fails to operate properly because of a fault in parts or workmanship, return the machine, and repair will be made at no additional charge.

Our basic machine repair starts at $99.99 and up. Final cost of repair services depends on the complexity of the repair and the type of machine we are servicing. Estimated turn around time for servicing is five business days. Our Fix-it Fairies fly FAST so you may get your machine back much faster!  Please note that if your machine requires a specialty part that needs to be special ordered we may need more time to complete any repairs.

Bring the following items with your machine for it's spa day with the Fix-it Fairies:

  • foot control
  • power cord
  • bobbin
  • bobbin case (unless the machine has a drop in bobbin)
  • zig-zag presser foot (standard foot)
  • buttonhole presser foot- required to test buttonholes if desired
  • any decorative stitch cams (common with older machines)
  • If bringing in serger, please leave it threaded and make sure a foot is on the machine
  • Embroidery machines should be dropped off with embroidery foot and embroidery unit and a hoop

*If you are having an issue with a particular accessory please bring that in as well.

**It is helpful to bring in an example of the issue you are experiencing. ex. birdnesting or poor stitch quality.

  • $75 Embroidery Module Service (added cost to any machine service)
  • $139.99 Serger or Coverstitch (without electronic screen)
  • $189.99 Coverstitch Combo or Serger with an electronic screen
  • $200 APQS Long Arm Machine Diagnostic Bench Fee. Additional hours of labor (if any) $125/hr.

Machine Service does not include the cost of parts or labor costs for the installation of any necessary parts. You will be notified first for approval.
