Who are we? We're Quilted Joy, a unique quilt shop in Louisville, Ky focused on the joy that comes in every stitch. We are looking for someone who, above all, can provide stellar customer service to our amazing community of quilters. Does this sound like you? Good!
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB SUMMARY
Your day to day tasks would involve assisting our customers who rent time on our longarm quilting machines and computerized systems. You'll also check in quilts that have been dropped off for machine quilting services and you will work on our machines to complete those quilts. (Don't worry, we will train you on everything you need to know about long arm quilting).
You are someone who enjoys chatting with strangers as you'll be assisting our renters as they work in our shop for 3-6 hours to complete their projects on our machines. You'll cheer our customers on and celebrate their accomplishments as you ring up their purchases. If you already know about about quilting or sewing... fabulous!
Oh, and just wait until you meet our team and our stitching community. They are the kindest, nicest, group of sewers you'll ever meet!
Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish meaningful connections with customers.
Strong customer service orientation, with a genuine desire to assist and support individuals within the quilting community.
Shift is Tuesday-Saturday dayside schedule for our Full Time position. Part time shifts are dayside and would be a 3-4 day a week expectation including two Saturdays a month.
Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for your shift. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 20 lbs.
Ideally you have a background in sewing or quilting already and live within 40 miles of Louisville but if you aren’t a sewist, don’t fret. We will teach you everything. It is more important that you are a people person who can nurture and celebrate another person’s creative endeavors.

The goal of this position is to ensure our online customers receive their orders quickly, accurately, and with a boutique touch that reflects the heart of Quilted Joy. You are the final set of hands before our products reach a maker’s sewing table.

THE ROLE
This is a full time position working Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5.
Fulfill internet orders accurately and efficiently.
Gather products carefully and verify each order before packing.
Track and help manage backorders so they are not missed.
Pack orders with care so they arrive safely and reflect our boutique experience.
Include legible handwritten notes when appropriate.
Receive incoming inventory and verify quantities and condition.
Restock shelves with attention to presentation and cleanliness.
Assist in identifying improvements to shipping processes.
Participate in special projects and contribute feedback when needed.
Physical demands: This position involves standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, reaching, carrying boxes, and moving throughout the facility consistently during the day.
