Lancaster, PA Quilt Show Part 2
I always find it interesting that each quilt show seems to have its own voice. At the AQS show in Lancaster you see a lot of hand quilting masterpieces. The most impressive of these are the hand applique, hand quilted creations. You just know you are looking at years of work. Years of dedication and phenomenal talent.
Here’s the Best of Show quilt from this year’s Lancaster show.
Amazed yet?
Here’s another quilt that caught my eye. I really like the border design on this one.
I must tell you that I took a photo of the label on each one of these quilts so I could be sure to tell you the name of the owner but when the flash goes off on my camera it washes out the words so I can’t read them. I wish the organizers would print the info on colored paper instead of white so that doesn’t happen. At the next show, I’ll try turning the flash off when I get a shot of the label.
Now this one’s photo of the label did turn out! Hooray!
This quilt got first place and I really love the curved cross-hatching.
The setting triangle motifs are also pretty groovy.
Just a reminder- please vote for me! I’ve been nominated as the national 2011 Machine Quilting Teacher of the Year! Exciting stuff!
