Imogene's Lexington Stars
A while back, Imogene’s daughter-in-law found a pile of quilts her mother made before her passing. Now Imogene, a quilter herself, is on a mission to get all of these quilts quilted as a memorial gift for her daughter-in-law.
There are a lot of floral fabrics in this quilt, so Imogene knew she wanted a floral design for the quilting. She quickly fell for the Lake Susan pantograph (one of my own designs). I know it's a little hard to see in the pictures, but some of the flowers in the quilt even look like the flowers in the panto!
There are many things I love about quilting, but knowing my kids can always get a hug from me just by wrapping up in one of my quilts is pretty special. This Lexington Stars quilt is the first I've finished for Imogene and her daughter-in-law and there are more to come. Every time I can help someone reconnect with a lost loved one, whether it's making memorial quilts from shirts or finishing quilts made by mothers and grandmothers, I know I have one of the best jobs out there!
