Fieldtrip to a Quilt Border Tutorial You Need to See
I get lots of new quilters into the showroom who are renting the machines to finish their quilts. Many are surprised at how full and wavy their outer borders are. The culprit? They didn't measure their borders and instead just slapped them down and sewed them on and wacked off the excess. (Yes, I'm guilty of it too). Over on the My Carolina Blog you'll find a wonderful Quilt Border Tutorial with loads of photos on how the slap and sew method skews your quilts center and ruins all of that hard work you've put into your piecing. You've spent so much time/effort/money piecing your blocks. Take the time to treat your borders with just a little measurements and you'll be amazed and how much better they will look and hang after quilting. Head over there now and check it out by clicking here.
