This quilt is the first of two Yvonne has brought me over the last few months, and I'm seeing her favorite styles for piecing and fabric choices. She likes piecing big common blocks on point, and she loves fun, bright floral fabrics. What do you think of her color palette? I absolutely love it! This sampler quilt features six different block patterns that are repeated in each row. Yvonne clearly put her heart into the piecing of this quilt. I wanted to honor her hard work by keeping the quilting simple so that her piecing could be the star! I did a basic meander all over the quilt with Glide's Linen colored thread. I also really liked Yvonne's tone on tone backing fabric. When Yvonne came to pick up her quilt, I asked her where she found it. She gave me a weird look and said, "I bought it here!" Over the summer I ordered several bolts of wide back tone on tones for the shop and completely forgot about them! Oops! That was a little embarrassing, but Yvonne laughed it off with me.
