March is quickly approaching, and that means we’re getting closer to Linda Hrcka’s Machine Quilting Workshop! Linda is a fantastic quilter and I’m very excited to learn from her along with you guys. If you haven’t seen Linda’s work yet you need to check out her website, The Quilted Pineapple, and her Instagram. But prepare to “ohh” and “ahh” over her amazing quilting and maybe carve out some time, cause you’ll be there a while! 🙂

When Linda is here at Quilted Joy she’ll be teaching two identical sessions of her 2 day machine quilting workshop. During the workshops Linda will teach 5 lecture/demo classes covering topics like feathers, fillers, and ruler work. These classes are for all skill levels and are perfect for stand up longarm quilters and sit down quilters. Students will also receive a delicious boxed lunch both days of classes, so come ready to learn! (Please let us know of any dietary restrictions you may have). Session 1 of Linda’s classes are on March 13-14, 2019 and session 2 is on March 15-16, 2019.

The Apprentice

Fun with Fillers

This class is full of fun, new and creative ideas to use fillers to enhance your quilt. From basic designs to dense fillers, fillers can create beautiful dimension to your quilt. Linda will show you how the most basic designs can enhance your quilt. Learn tips and techniques to quilt fillers that flow with the quilt. Linda will also demonstrate how threads play a design role with fillers. You will leave with an assortment of creative ideas to create that WOW factor everyone loves!

Curving to Greatness

Rulers, template, and curves, oh my! Do you have rulers at home that you are not sure how to use? Do you want to discover how rulers can enhance the design process? If so, this is the class for you! Linda explores how rulers can open a whole new world of endless design possibilities. The use of rulers facilitates the creation of amazing secondary designs. Take curve – curves are a good thing! Curves are so forgiving, yet they are always striking on a quilt. Linda will demonstrate how to combine straight line designs with curves to create new, striking combinations. Linda will teach how to let rulers do all the designing, and after this class, students will work smarter, not harder!
