T-shirt or tshirt? Either way they make great quilts for Christmas!
This is the time of year I get a lot of tshirt quilts in to do. They make wonderful Christmas gifts and are incredibly sentimental.
This quilt was pieced by my client, Jeanne. She did a wonderful job setting each shirt with that black frame. It really sets off the way she pieced the whole top together.
Putting together a t-shirt quilt where each shirt is a different size can be a mathematical nightmare. You have to figure out the sizing of all the sashing so the top comes out square. There are some good books out there if you are interested in making your own t-shirt quilt instead of hiring me to put it together for you. This one by Eleanor Burns is easy to follow.
Most all of these shirts are connected to the private high school my brother attended and where my Aunt teaches middle school. The name of the school is Christian Academy and it has grown so much since my brother began there in kindergarten. He is now 24 so, yeah it has definitely grown, just like him!
Finally, here is a shirt from a T-shirt quilt I'm making for a customer. She has twins and wants each of them to get a tshirt quilt for Christmas. When I make tshirt quilts I charge $14/shirt and that includes everything- fabric, labor, quilting, everything.
Here's one of the shirts from Pam's twins' quilt that I just love. I wish there was an equivalent shirt for my triplets!
