Some Baby Quilt Fun
There must have been something in the air because we had several baby quilts coming through the showroom.
She made this cute gingham inspired quilt top for a friend using only three colors. Donna says she hates cutting and now that she knows about our AccuQuilt die cutter, she says she won't make a quilt without it! She cut all of those 3.5" squares in less than an hour!
After piecing the top, she was back in the showroom to quilt it. The backing fabric was from Michele D'Amore Designs. The tulips are so girly! Donna echoed that girly fashion by quilting the hearts and posies design board. What a lucky new baby!
Vivian pieced this stunning split 4 patch quilt in yellows and greys for her husband. She told us that it was her "ugly quilt" because her husband says that a man shouldn't have a pretty quilt. He has a mustache, so she used some fun mustache fabrics. Vivian doesn't like the restrictions of using a paper pantograph or a design board and always free motion quilts a loose meander. This time she quilted a loopy design. We mustache you, is it stunning or ugly? Brenda is expecting a granddaughter this spring, so she's been hard at work on fun baby quilts for this lucky little girl. Brenda's son was a big fan of the Berenstein bears when he was a little boy, so of course his little girl needs to have a Berenstein inspired quilt! Brenda even found the perfect design for this quilt - the teddy bears and hearts design board! Too cute!
Brenda also brought in this fun, buggy baby quilt. Her quilt guild in the Cincinnati area makes a lot of baby quilts for Kids Comfort. This one has lots of bright, cartoony bugs. It's so fun this quilt can easily be gender neutral. She quilted the China Grove paper pantograph, giving the bugs on the quilt lots of big leaves to play on!
