Sarah is a rather prolific new quilter. She told me that when she first moved to town, she was holed up in a hotel room for quite some time because they didn't have a house just yet. She decided to start taking quilting classes to learn something new. She had some sewing experience but the quilting bug hadn't bitten...until now! This is her Purple Pinwheel quilt. This wall hanging has an incredibly sophisticated color palate and was fun to play with. I put a looped border treatment on the outside borders. There are spinning ribbons inside the pinwheels, and a scroll motif dancing through the framing triangles. When my kids were helping get pictures of this quilt, the sun was going down. I'll get some better shots up soon.
