Every year, the Quilt Fairies at Quilted Joy open up our long arm studio and our hearts to the Louisville Nimble Thimbles Quilt Guild for one of our favorite traditions. In 2025, they once again filled the shop with energy, talent, and compassion, using our APQS long arm machines to quilt 63 adorable kid-sized quilts in just one day!
The Nimble Thimbles have been part of Angela’s quilting journey for over 20 years. As a long-standing member, she knows firsthand how meaningful these guild connections can be. More than just a place to stitch and share stories, the guild is deeply committed to giving back through their Cuddle Care program, which provides handmade quilts to children in local hospitals.
Throughout the year, members of the Nimble Thimbles lovingly sew cheerful quilt tops in fun, kid-friendly fabrics. Then, once a year, they bring them all to Quilted Joy for a big quilting day, turning stacks of tops into cozy finished quilts using our fleet of APQS machines.
his day is always full of laughs, teamwork, and the steady hum of longarms as everyone pitches in to wrap kids in comfort and love. We're so happy to be part of the magic each year and help this amazing group reach their goal.
