Lorena has made a few of these fabulous quilts made from 30's fabrics. She hand embroiders their antennas and the wing details.
She uses meticulous miters in her corners and the quilts themselves look so classic.

I put a meandering ribbon between the butterflies and added in wings on each butterfly. This quilt is a great example of how something simple can have such a great impact. I'm in Detroit right now to install an Intelliquilter system on a gentleman's APQS Millennium. I can't wait to show him all the bells and whistles on the IQ! I've also included a couple photos from the recent Philly show. This one was so striking to me. I love the strips of colors on black and the modern abstract feel of the quilt. The next one I want to share is a lighthouse quilt that uses pieced blocks in the background. I love this technique! I've never tried something like this and I would imagine drafting the pattern would be very challenging. Isn't the effect wonderful? Love it!
