I've got another fun longarm quilting video tutorial for you. This time I'm showing you how to quilt feathered arches. Take a look at the video below. Feathered arches are a very elegant and formal quilting design. I'm demonstrating how to quilt feathered arches in a border or sashing space. But I can also see them in the melon shape of a double wedding ring quilt. If you're going to quilt these in a border like I did, you'll want to grab your favorite chalk pencil or fabric marker. I added tick marks every 4", but you might need to adjust that space depending on the length of your border. I also marked the miter of my border. This will be super helpful if you're going to turn this design around the corner. To quilt the feathered arches, you'll start with a large arc. If you're quilting this in a border, don't forget to leave about a quarter inch of space at the edge. This leaves room for the binding so that your beautiful quilting isn't covered up! At the end of the arc, you'll quilt a circle. From there, start quilting feathers off of the circle and using the arc as a spine.
