From Client to Renter

When I first met AnnaMaria and Jennifer, they were clients looking for a longarmer to finish quilts. Over the years I've worked on some incredible quilts for these ladies, including the tea cup quilt from Jennifer I took to Fons & Porter, and I'm honored to call these ladies my friends. Lately, I'm not working on as many quilts for these two because they're doing their own quilting. And it's always going to be a good day in the shop when I get to spend it with these two!
AnnaMaria brought in this massive block of the month quilt. I love all of the bold colors and prints she chose. This quilt is so striking and will look amazing draped over a bed! The A Little Bit This paper pantograph has a nice floral design that pairs well with some of her floral prints; it's a 13" tall pattern that's great for beginners. AnnaMaria reserved a full day and a couple hours the following day, but only ended up needing 4 hours. I think that's a new record for finishing a king! That huge pattern made quilting this one a breeze.
If you didn't already know, I have an obsession with batik fabrics. So I was drooling over Jennifer's merry go round quilt as soon as she walked in. Nonnie, another friend of ours, made this quilt in a class taught by Karen, one of the great quilters and teachers here in Louisville (I've also done a few quilts for Karen over the years). Jennifer chose the Square Spiral paper pantograph, and I'm sure you can see why. The quilting really just adds to the spiraling effect of the merry go round pattern.
These two are so much fun to have around, and I can't wait until their next trip back!
