Four-Patch Frenzy!
Susan pieced this top, a design called Four-Patch Frenzy, after watching a tutorial by Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company. She recently asked me to quilt it for her.
Aren't these fabrics fun? It looks like either the border coordinated with the block fabrics or that the block fabrics were chosen based upon the border. See the fabrics with the hexies and the fabrics with spools? Don't the bird fabrics remind you of the bird that is in the logo for Missouri Star Quilt Company?
I just love the black and white four-patches and how they contrast with the colored rectangles. The rectangles, by the way, are ten-inch squares or "layer cakes" that have been cut in half once. What a quick and easy project!
To allow all those fun fabrics to be the star, Susan opted for an allover meander in a light neutral thread. Her backing fabric, Swirled Vines, is one of the more than 130 extra wide backing fabrics that we carry at Quilted Joy.
We love this quilt, Susan! Thank you for bringing it to us for quilting!
