Express Lane to the Modern Quilting Highway
Modern quilting can be so interesting, inspiring, and for some very intimidating. Not only are the edge to edge and filler designs very different from traditional quilting, but there is so much more negative space. It’s easy to get lost in the thoughts of “how do I fill that up?”
In my new class Express Lane to the Modern Quilting Highway, I’ll be showing you the “shortcuts” to make modern quilting fun and easy. We’ll breakdown the negative space into containers and fill them in with a variety of designs. And don’t let anyone tell you straight lines are the only or best way to quilt modern tops. We’ll practice tons of different designs with curves, corners, waves and so much more!
I’m so excited to teach this class as a part of Quilted Joy’s Longarm Schoolhouse on Thursday August 27, 2015. The class will be split between drawing in sketchbooks and working on the machines with a partner. All fabric and batting are provided, all you need to bring are some snips, a sketchbook, and drawing utensil. At the end of the day you can take home a fun sampler filled with ideas for you next modern quilt! This class is filling up fast and there are only a few spaces available!
