Dr. Seuss fabrics make such great baby quilts - they're playful, imaginative, inspiring and so much more! It doesn't hurt that there are so many iconic characters too. Pam made this Dr. Seuss alphabet baby quilt for her grandson who is turning 1 in September. The characters in this quilt were just calling for a fun edge to edge design. I used the Double Bubble pantograph which is always great for a kiddo's quilt. It has lots of fun movement and looks a little like monster eyes too! Every time someone brings in a Dr. Seuss quilt I'm always looking for one character in particular. Did you know my maiden name is Horton? Through most of my childhood, classmates would tease me for having the same name as the elephant from the Dr. Seuss classic Horton Hears a Who. Now that I'm older I've embraced my inner elephant, and I'm always excited when I find Horton in a quilt. When I laid this out on the frame to get a good look at it, I assumed I was looking at the work of a seasoned quilter. I don't think I could find a corner that wasn't perfectly square. It turns out this is Pam's first quilt ever! I'm so impressed with her work and I can't wait to see where her quilting journey takes her!
