Custom Quilting Classes Coming in February
Are you ready to dive into custom and freemotion quilting, but don't know where to start? Join me February 20-21 for four beginner friendly classes covering the basics of custom quilting and giving you the inspiration you need to get started. Look at stencils in a whole new way with Using Stencils on a Longarm. A basic stencils can break a block down into pieces, allowing you the freedom to focus on one small portion of a repeatable design to create wonderful custom block designs. In this class we'll make a small quilt using nine plain 9" blocks with a fused heart in 5 of the blocks on plain fabrics. We all know the quilting makes the quilt, but have you ever noticed that some quilts just pop? Find out the secrets to making your quilt rise above the rest during the Filling Open Spaces with Sculpted Quilting class. This hands on class will have you playing with ways to sculpt quilting motifs in order to draw attention to the stitching. In Sew Easy Background Fillers you will learn fun and easy background filler designs that will compliment any quilt style. Come learn how to make even the most complicated background filler design easy to accomplish. You can choose to quilt on plain fabric, or have a tote bag panel loaded to the frame ready for you to quilt with your new background fillers.
We'll wrap up this crash course in custom quilting with Playing with Rulers and Templates. Explore a variety of longarm rulers and how to use them on the machine to break down a quilt top into smaller sections for spectacular results. We'll start with Stitch in the Ditch quilting and work up to scallops, swags, curved cross-hatching, piano keys, and more! We can only have two quilters per machine, so register today before space runs out! Sign up online using the links above or call 502.718.7148.
