Columbus Ohio NQA Quilt Show
This is the first of a 2 part post. Part 2 is located here.
I just returned from the Columbus Ohio NQA quilt show. This was the first time I’d been to that show and I really enjoyed it. I especially loved this little market place across the street from it that had amazing authentic Belgian waffles which are more like sugar cookies and true European coffee. But enough about my tummy’s adventures. 🙂
I went around and took photos of quilts that made my heart sing and over the next few days I’m going to share them with you.
This one was made by a quilt artist I’ve been admiring at many of the other shows I attend. Her name is Lois Podolny and she works with an APQS George sit down quilting machine. Her work is incredibly impressive. This one looks even better with all those ribbons hanging off of it, doesn’t it? I love, love, love the colors!
The next one is a Jacobean applique from Susan Cook and I’ve got the book this pattern came from. The quilt is on my bucket list but I haven’t worked on mine in forever. What specifically pulled me towards this quilt is the twisted sashing. I don’t know that I’ve seen anything like this before. I’m not even sure how she did it but I really like the treatment.
Part 2 of all my favorite quilts from the Columbus, OH show can be found here.
