Learn to Quilt on Your Home Machine + A Laura Heine Workshop!
This August I'll be teaching two of my most popular classes! On Saturday August 10, 2019 we'll be diving back into a colorful world during the Fabric Collage the Laura Heine Way workshop. The next weekend on Saturday August 17, 2019 we'll be learning how to quilt on our domestic sewing machines during the Machine Quilting Primer: Baby Quilt class.
There's something addictive in seeing the lightbulbs go off in my students eyes as they're learning these techniques. That's why I love teaching these two classes. I'd love for you to join me for either of these classes, so be sure to sign up soon because they tend to fill up fast! You can read the class descriptions below and click the links to see the supply lists and register for the classes.
Fabric Collage the Laura Heine Way, $65
Saturday August 10, 2019 10:30am-3:30pm
Join us for a one day class exploring the fabric collage technique used by the Laura Heine patterns. This will be a collaborative time to play and explore for the day as we work on our fabric collage projects. In this class we will dive into color, value and contrast through fabric to add dimensions to a quilt top that is a whirlwind of color, shapes, and designs! We politely ask and encourage you to purchase the materials you need for this workshop at Quilted Joy so we can continue to add fun and unique class offerings. If you aren’t sure we carry what you’re looking for, please give us a call at (502) 718-7148. Bring a sack lunch if desired.
Machine Quilting Primer: Baby Quilt, $55
Saturday August 17, 2019 10:30am-3:30pm
Step into the fantastic world of machine quilting using your sit down, domestic sewing machine. In this class we will use a pre-printed panel as our quilting sandbox to play with motifs. No piecing needed! Angela Huffman will show you how to use both straight line quilting and free motion quilting to learn the basics of machine quilting on a regular sewing machine or sit down longarm. Angela will share tips on how to prep your quilting project for quilting, selecting threads, fun beginner stitching designs and more.
Prior quilting experience is not needed but you do need to know how to thread your machine and set it up for free motion quilting. If you have a table that fits onto your machine to make freemotion quilting easier, bring it!
You can always find an updated list of all the upcoming classes offered at Quilted Joy here!
