Ribbon Curtains and Custom Applique quilt In Progress
I needed some type of curtain for the tiny windows that are in my new basement studio. I wish I had massive windows in there but I'm grateful for the small bit of sunlight they let in. I decided I needed to display all of the ribbons our family has won for quilting and tried out a new idea for curtains.
What do you think? I like them!
Here's a custom quilt I've had on the frame the last few days. It is a pretty big quilt and it took me some time to figure out what to do with the blocks and borders.
Take a look and see if you have some ideas.
Here's the outside border which is made up of an appliqued pointy Dresden Plate design.
The cornerstones in the outside border are this basket which shares the same white background fabric as the Dresden Plates.
Finally the interior section of the quilt is made up of all baskets.
Think about ways you'd fill the space and remember that the customer wants it custom and the backing is solid white muslin.
In my next post I'll show you some of my mockup designs.
What do you think?
