Tabatha's Modern Christmas Quilt
I love the quilts that look complicated and difficult. They make me feel good about my piecing skills. What’s even better is when they aren’t difficult or complicated to piece. That is what I like about Tabatha’s modern Christmas quilt. It looks like a fun mix of interlocked blocks, but there is an order that makes this quilt much simpler than you would think.
Modern Scrappy Feel
This beautiful jumble of Christmas colors has such a fun scrappy feel, but this was not a stash buster. You can tell that the fabrics coordinate beautifully which gives it a more modern vibe. This was a fat quarter bundle, though I think you could make it with a layer cake as well. She was able to balance the different fabrics very well.
Tabatha did a wonderful job of making the quilt look even with all those gorgeous complimentary colors. To finish the look, she bought a great backing fabric from us. It may have not been part of the same line, but the lime green Flower Burst wide quilt backing fabric looks amazing with the other greens in this top.
Poinsettias Galore!
She had us quilt it with a pantograph that definitely suited the fabric well. She picked an edge to edge design called Poinsettia. As you might guess from the title, it covered the top with beautifully quilted poinsettias complete with foliage.
It quilted up quite dense so why we set IQ to make the flowers as big as possible. It was so wonderfully detailed, the larger size looked great. Everything came together well for this top. I hope she and her family get years of enjoyment from this pretty little modern Christmas quilt.
However you choose to celebrate this season, we wish you the greatest success in your endeavors now and in the coming year. May your needles stay sharp, your bobbins full and your tension balanced! 🤶
