Everyone in the shop was going crazy for Colleen’s elephants. Aren’t they so cute?! She made this wall hanging for her grandkids’s playroom.
Colleen wanted to keep the quilting very simple and instead of using a pantograph, did vertical straight lines. So I set her up with the channel locks on the Millie and she was all set! When doing vertical lines, I recommend varying the space between the lines. Sometimes equally spaced lines don’t look quite right to the eye, and mixing it up can make it more fun! I think it looks like the baby elephant is hiding from the rain under the mama elephant! To help make the quilting pop, Colleen used a blue Fantastico variegated thread.
Finally, we have Kathleen and her bow tie block baby quilts. Kathleen has two daughters who will be starting families of their own soon. She made two quilts that were the same design, same size, and would use the same pantograph design. She loaded both quilts on the Freddie at the same time and used the Square Spiral Paper Pantograph. We agreed the squares would nicely complement the geometric pattern of her blocks, and it’s a great design for beginners.
