Earlier this month, I got to attend AQS Quilt Week in Chattanooga.  Not one, but two quilts I worked on were accepted to the show.  We’ve talked about Karen’s log cabin quilt a few times before (it won a blue ribbon earlier this year), and it was on display again at Chattanooga.

Also on display was this modern quilt I finished up that Sandy pieced and is on its way to the Des Moines show.

Pay Day Candy Bar Challenge

Although neither won a ribbon in Chattanooga, the Pay Day Candy Bar Challenge quilt was pictured in the show book.  How cool is that!

Best of show went to a beautiful quilt called Exuberance by Marilyn Badger.

Here’s the booth crew for APQS. It is always so much fun to meet with quilters from all over the country.

And if all of this wasn’t exciting enough, I also got to teach two classes at the beginning of the week.  In the morning was a beginning longarm class where we covered everything from turning on the machine to stitching simple edge-to-edge designs.  Later in the afternoon, we went back to fourth grade to make easy free-motion border and sashing designs using cursive writing.
