Longarm Buddies
I'd like you to meet two of my newest renters, Marie and Maggie. These two are coworkers and quilting buddies. They came in for their rental certification class and worked on some very sweet, and interesting, quilts!
Maggie made this quilt in a quilting class a while back. She said she's been in love with the colors and designs in the fabrics, but before she could decide where and how she might use it, her teenaged daughter laid claim on it! I can see why she wanted it, those bright colors and floral prints are great for a young girl. Maggie chose the Kashmir paper pantograph, she liked the panto's light floral design and how well it complemented the quilt. It's also a great beginner pantograph, which made it even better! ;)
As a fan of all things geeky, I really liked Marie's Punisher quilt. For those of you who don't know, the Punisher is a vigilante antihero from Marvel Comics. Marie's husband is a huge fan, so he's very excited for this quilt! What really blew me away was Marie designed this quilt herself! She just plotted it out on graph paper and started putting her pieces together. Then she really surprised me when she said she wanted to quilt this all free motion and quilt skulls into the cornerstones. She had never used a longarm before her rental and she was ready to jump straight into free motion quilting! Didn't she do an incredible job?
