Christmas Time is Here
“Oh, the weather outside is frightful,..” And a warm quilt just makes the inside so much more delightful! Nothing warms the soul more than a cuddly Christmas quilt. These ladies got into the season and created some beautiful seasonal favorites.
Julie used this Frosty panel for her rental certification class. She used the snowflakes design board to quilt it, but added a special touch by "writing" the words "snow" and "fun."
This quilt is filled with bows on presents. Nancy said this is going to be a seasonal quilt to pull out at Christmas time. She used red minkee-like Cuddle Dot fabric on the back to make it super warm and cuddly! She quilted it with the Bell Blossom pantograph because it reminded her of poinsettia petals. She thinks this will be the favorite Christmas decor that the whole family will be fighting for. I think she might be right.
Valerie came in with a couple of little things getting ready for Christmas. She laid them down on the same backing and batting, allowing her to quilt them all quickly and efficiently. This great little table runner looks like two Christmas trees sharing one star on top. She quilted free motion with some easy wavy lines.
The Santa Wall Hanging is too cute! The letters and snowflakes are tone on tone fabrics appliqued onto the green background. She used velour and fuzzy fabrics for Santa's clothes and beard. She quilted scallops in the beard and hat to give them a little extra texture and pizzazz! This wall hanging was inspired by a Christmas card.
Bertie made this variation on a log cabin quilt. There is sashing between the log cabin blocks that make eight point stars at the intersections. I love the way she placed the log cabin squares to give that nine patch look. I especially loved the stars. She chose a striking black border and white thread to quilt it. The periwinkle pantograph is classic and whimsical feel to the quilt.
Aren't those reindeer super cute? Bertie has quilted several of these log cabin with hidden star quilts in 2017. But when she brought this one in, I couldn't help but think there was something different about this one. I had to take a look at this one from April before I realized the difference. She mixed up the way she laid out her log cabins to give this quilt a totally different look! It's amazing how a couple of small changes can really make a difference!
