Machine Information
Miyabi means elegance, and the J-350QVP is JUKI's longarm. Eighteen inches of throat to the right of the needle and ten inches of height under the arm, sewing at up to 2,200 stitches a minute, with the JUKI SmartStitch stitch regulator built in rather than added on. Most longarms in this class give you eight inches of height or less, and those extra two inches are what you feel when working with your quilt.

Eighteen inches, and ten of them upright
The working area is 18 inches wide by 10 inches high. Width is what gets quoted, but height is what decides how much quilt you can have rolled up under the arm before you have to stop and advance. A direct drive main shaft on an AC servo motor puts the power straight where it is needed, so the head runs smoothly at speed.

JUKI SmartStitch, and the four ways to use it
Image sensors read how fast you are moving the head and the machine matches its speed to your hands, so a stitch is the same length whether you are creeping round a feather or running a straight line across the border. There are four modes. Cruise keeps stitching at a minimum speed even when you pause, which suits most quilting. Precise stops the needle the moment you stop moving. Manual hands the speed back to you. Baste lays down long stitches for holding a top in place. You pick the mode on the screen and change it whenever the work changes.
What you reach for while you are quilting
The color touch screen. Stitches per inch, minimum speed, stitch mode, needle stop and thread cutting all sit on one menu, with the bobbin level in the corner.
Needle and hook. A GB 134R size 18 needle, a 35mm needle bar stroke and a double capacity M bobbin, wound on an independent motor so you can fill one while you work.
Light where the needle is. Four high intensity LEDs above the needle, plus six ultra-bright True White lights aimed at the stitching area, and an adjustable laser guide for following a pantograph.
Sit down at it, or stand up to it
The same machine converts to how you work and what room you have. As a sit-down it takes a 33 by 33 inch table and you move the quilt under a stationary needle. On a frame you move the machine instead, and the steel frame comes in 5, 7, 10 and 12 foot lengths with a quick release bar system and adjustable height, so it can be set to your back rather than the other way round. Handle bars at the front carry push button controls, thread trimming with an auto set thread lock, and an automatic needle positioner. Rear handle bars for quilting pantographs from the back are an option, and so is Quilter's Creative Touch 5 robotics if you want the machine driving the pattern.

A longarm is the biggest purchase most quilters ever make, and the frame length is a decision about your room as much as your quilting. We have been putting people on longarms for years, and we would rather talk it through than sell you the wrong length. Quilted Joy is a family-owned authorized JUKI dealer, our own technicians service what we sell here in Louisville. Call the Quilt Fairies at (502) 718-7148.

JUKI asks that the machine be serviced periodically by an authorized dealer to keep that warranty in force. We are that dealer, and the bench is here in Louisville with our own technicians on it, which matters more on a longarm than on anything else you own, because a machine on a frame is not one you drop in the car and take to a stranger.

Juki Miyabi J-350QVP Longarm Quilting Machine — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the JUKI Miyabi J-350QVP?
The Miyabi J-350QVP is a longarm quilting machine. Miyabi means elegance in Japanese. It gives you 18 inches of throat to the right of the needle and 10 inches of height, sews up to 2,200 stitches per minute, and carries the built-in JUKI SmartStitch stitch regulator.
How much space does the J-350QVP give me?
18 inches wide by 10 inches high. That height is what you notice on a loaded quilt: a bulky batting rolls through with room to spare, and a tall pantograph fits in one pass.
What is JUKI SmartStitch?
It is the built-in stitch regulator. Image sensors read how fast you are moving the machine and adjust the stitch to match, so your stitch length stays the same whether you are cruising down a border or easing around a feather. There are four modes: Cruise, Precise, Manual and Baste.
What frame sizes does the J-350QVP come on?
It converts between a sit-down setup of about 33 by 33 inches and a frame at 5, 7, 10 or 12 feet, on a solid steel frame with adjustable height and a quick release bar system. Call the Quilt Fairies at (502) 718-7148 and we will help you work out which length fits your room.
Can I add computerized quilting to the J-350QVP?
Yes. It can be driven by hand or run by software with Quilter's Creative Touch, so you can start out quilting free motion and add robotics later.
What bobbins and needles does the J-350QVP take?
Double capacity M style bobbins, which is what lets you quilt a long time between changes, and GB 134R size 18 needles. The bobbin winder runs on its own motor so you can fill a bobbin without unthreading the machine.
Can I finance the JUKI Miyabi J-350QVP?
Yes. Quilted Joy offers Shop Pay Installments, so you can split the purchase into payments. You will see an estimate under the price on this page and can check your eligibility in a few clicks.
What is the warranty on a new JUKI Miyabi J-350QVP?
JUKI America warrants a new home sewing machine to the original purchaser for five years on parts and two years on the motor, light assembly, wiring, switches, circuit boards and speed control. It covers normal household use in the United States and Canada, is not transferable, and asks that the machine be serviced periodically by an authorized JUKI dealer. Ours is that bench, here in Louisville.
Why buy the J-350QVP from Quilted Joy?
Quilted Joy is a family-owned authorized JUKI dealer in Louisville, Kentucky, home of the Quilt Fairies and led by Angela Huffman, host of Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting on PBS. Our own technicians service what we sell, and we hold 4.9 stars on Google and a 98% recommend rate on Facebook.
