Pre-loved, inspected and serviced by the Fix-It Fairies
This is one machine, not a stock item. It has been through our own workshop, and it carries a one year parts and labor warranty from Quilted Joy. Condition is rated good: it runs well and has minor cosmetic marks from its first life.
The Performance 5.0 was PFAFF's flagship sewing and quilting machine, and buying one pre-loved is how a lot of quilters get to this level of machine.
It is a serious piece of engineering: an interactive color touchscreen, over 300 stitches, Maxi Stitches up to 48mm wide, the Stitch Creator feature and the Original IDT system underneath all of it.
Original IDT, and room for the quilt
IDT is PFAFF's integrated dual feed. A second set of feed teeth comes down from above and moves the top layer at the same rate the feed dogs move the bottom one, so layers stay together from silk through to a quilt sandwich.
There is a generous sewing area for a quilt to sit in, and a knee lift so the presser foot goes up without your hands leaving the work. On anything with corners to pivot, that is the feature you use most.
A touchscreen, 300 stitches, and stitches you invent yourself
The color touchscreen shows each stitch at the size it will actually sew, and you edit and combine stitches right on the display rather than by menu. There are over 300 built in, covering utility, quilting and decorative work.
Two things lift it above an ordinary machine at this level. Maxi Stitches run up to 48mm wide, which is broad enough to be the whole design on a border rather than an accent. And Stitch Creator lets you draw a new stitch or reshape a built-in one and keep it.
