Wendy's Block of the Month Club

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! It has all the colors I flip over. Especially that coppery orange with dots.
This is Wendy's quilt made for a block of the month she is teaching at her shop, Among Friends. This is one of the colorways offered for the block of the month and I got to quilt it! I love this block. I don't know what the name of the block is but isn't it yummy? I'd love to see a whole quilt made up with this block. I am seeing a growing trend of using stripes in sashing. It really makes the blocks stand out and brings life to the quilt top. I like how every other block is edged in the striped sashing and the plain sashing. But my favorite thing is the way this quilt top combines dots and stripes. I'm such a wimp; I've never used this combination but it totally works in this design, doesn't it? I used a new edge to edge design called "Funky Fleur de Lis". It goes great with the whimsy the dots bring out in this sophisticated quilt. LOVE IT!
