What’s a Shop Hop, Anyway?

If you’ve never hopped before, you’re in for a treat. A Shop Hop is like a quilt-lover’s road trip—complete with maps, prizes, discounts, and inspiration galore. It’s all about visiting participating quilt shops across a region, collecting stamps, and maybe even winning some fabulous prizes along the way. But really, it’s about the joy of the journey.

Whether you’re hopping solo, with your sewing squad, or dragging a very patient family member along for the ride (bonus points if they’ll stop at antique shops while you browse bolts!), you’re bound to make wonderful memories.

Why We Love It

Quilt shops are the heart and soul of our creative communities. They’re the places where we find our favorite fabrics, ask the tricky questions, try out new machines, and connect with folks who “get” our obsession with thread. The Shop Hop helps keep these vital spaces thriving by bringing in visitors who might not have discovered them otherwise.

And let’s be honest: sometimes we all need a little nudge to step outside our comfort zones and explore somewhere new. The Shop Hop gives you a reason to go exploring—while adding new shops (and probably new projects) to your favorites list.

How to Join the Fun

Start by grabbing the All Kentucky & Tennessee Shop Hop Magazine. This guide includes your passport, store directory, regional maps, and exclusive patterns and projects. You’ll use it to collect stamps and plan your route.

Then, from July 1 to August 31, hop across the region visiting as many of the 50+ participating stores as your heart (and schedule) can handle. Along the way, enjoy prizes, exclusive fabrics, sweet deals, and that magical feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself—something stitched together by a shared love of quilting.
