Stars, Simple and Sweet!
We show lots of complicated quilts here on the blog, but simple and sweet deserves a place too. Terry made this quilt for friends and brought it to Quilted Joy for quilting. She wanted it to show her love for this couple, pure and simple.
As you can see, Terry used a two-color color scheme - red and cream. She only used two fabrics rather than making the quilt scrappy. This has two effects - it tends to bring focus to her excellent piecing skills and it gives the quilting an opportunity to shine.
We chose the Heart Fancy pantograph for Terry's quilt. It continues the theme of love, of course, but it also softens the geometric star design with its curving lines. I used a neutral thread, a light tan, for the quilting itself.
For the backing, Terry chose the Scroll - Espresso Brown fabric. I love how the swirls in the fabric pair nicely with the quilting!
Beautiful work, Terry! The recipients will love your gift!
