Lyvonn loves fun, vibrant colors, but you wouldn't guess that from this quilt. Over the last few months, Lyvonn was making quilts for her sons's homes. I've already shown you the Irish Chain she quilted herself during a rental on our APQS longarm machines. While in town for her rental, she also dropped off this sawtooth star for me to quilt. Lyvonn made this Sawtooth Star quilt with a nautical theme for her US Navy sailor son. Longarm quilter Angela Huffman quilted with the Turbulance pantograph. Lyvonn's son is a sailor for the US Navy, so when choosing the fabrics for this quilt she looked for fabrics with nautical themes. If it had been up to Lyvonn she might have added a few more colors, but her daughter-in-law prefers more neutral tones for her home. I have a few designs that remind me of water and waves, and Lyvonn fell for the Turbulance pantograph.
