Angela added accents to the wings and an elliptical body to each butterfly - QuiltedJoy.com
It is quilts like this that make me appreciate the 26" throat on my APQS Millennium machine. Sarah's butterflies are big- around 16" square. With my Mille's huge workspace I could do each row of butterflies and the sashings in one pass! Have a longarm this big really helps save time and it lets me tie the design lines more easily on big blocks like this.

Butterfly Parade with custom quilting by Angela Huffman - QuiltedJoy.comAngela added line dancing to accent the piecing in the sashing - QuiltedJoy.comI picked up the dots in the fabric and repeated that in the smallest green border. The second pieced border has daisy repeats dancing around the top. The outermost border are butterflies and are easier to see from the back. Sarah had done an amazing amount of work in the sashings. The entire white sashing is pieced! To accent all that work I used line dancing to add some twist and movement to the piecing. Each butterfly has wing accents and an elliptical body. Behind the butterflies are loops mimicking the flight pattern of the butterfly.
