We've had another great year of Row by Row! It's always so much fun meeting everyone who comes to the shop to pick up their row. I'm always excited to hear how far away folks came from, and you came from all over the country! We're always so grateful for the opportunity to show off the shop and all the fun things we do here. I want to send a big thank you out to everyone who stopped by to pick up a row! This year's theme was "On the Go!" and we had lots of fun coming up with a great way to represent the theme in our row while also giving it a unique Louisville flair. After lots of brainstorming, we decided on hot air balloons inspired by the hot air balloon race held every year as part of the Kentucky Derby Festival. I wanted to keep the construction fairly simple, so there's no applique in the row. It's all pieced! My friend Liz Kodner of Maplehurst Quilt Co. designed the row and I'm so pleased with it! The winner of the shop's Row by Row prize liked the balloons so much, she pieced more of them to use as corner stones for her quilt. Arlene's winning quilt is pictured below.
