I'm loving this sweet and feminine quilt I'm calling the Purple Parisian. Sher made this lovely alternating four patch quilt for her daughter. I can tell she's dreaming of visiting the famed City of Light one day. Sher pieced this with delicate floral prints and light lavender colors, creating a beautiful and very feminine look. For a little extra flair she embroidered the Eiffel Tower in the center block.
I needed to take extra care when loading this quilt to the frame because it is directional. The backing fabric has a fun graphic print with French signs for cafes and shops. It's direction needed to match the direction of the Eiffel Tower on the quilt top.
When Sher first laid this out for me, I immediately knew the perfect pantograph. The Funky Fleur-de-Lys pantograph is one of my favorites. In addition to being reminiscent of France, the fleur-de-lys is the official symbol of Louisville, KY so it often reminds my local customers of home. It's funky feel makes it more fun than formal and perfect for a young girl in love with Paris!
