There are many beautiful colors. In fact all colors are beautiful in my opinion. Who am I kidding, black and white quilts are beautiful as are gray quilts. But one of my favorite colors is purple. There is something so bold and soft at the same time as that luscious combination of red and blue. There is a good reason it is the color of royalty. Mainly because the dye was so expensive to obtain, but no matter. It is regal and glorious and should be loved by all. Here are a couple of gorgeous purple quilts from our longarm renters that are divine.

For Nancy's Granddaughter

Nancy made this sweet quilt for her granddaughter. She quilted it with the Turbulance Paper Pantograph which added some beautiful swirls and texture to a quilt with a lot of squares. I also like how she added pink and green to the mix. Even though she used a lovely dark purple in the border, the white sashing really brightens every thing up, don't you think? And I think she fussy cut those cornerstones. How divine is that?

Dustin's First Quilt

This is Dustin’s first ever quilt! I told him that he simply had to enter it into the fair. He did such a great job! This was made with a divine purple jellyroll with flecks of metallics thrown in for good measure. For whatever reason, it reminds me of a topographical map of a river bed. Maybe I'm weird. I really like it though. It has a great flow to it. This was also quilted with Turbulance, which adds to the flow feeling for me. Lovely job! I’d like to say we see Dustin often, but he was so bit by the quilting bug, he bought a longarm.

Twin Unicorns

It is not very often that a color can be easily associated with an animal. But what animal says purple and pink more than a unicorn? Colleen made these two Lisa Unicorn pillows for two of her granddaughters. She used Moda Ombre Confetti fabric as well as Moda’s Grunge Hits the Spot line. She quilted it with some very simple straight lines. It’s a great way to quilt things that have pictures like unicorns in the them, because it adds texture and structure without adding any additional distraction to take from the piecing. These are going to be sewn into divine pillows for the two cousins.

Yolanda's Certification Class

Yolanda just learned how to use the longarm with this throw sized quilt. As simple as it is, it is still divine with those purples mixed with the blue and pink. The stripes break up the checker board effect and then the checkerboard breaks up the stripe. It just works. She decided that a simple meander was the best addition to this for a quilting pattern. This was her first time with the long arms after all.

April's Easter Quilt

I complimented April on getting her easter quilting done early. She sheepishly replied that it was supposed to be for Easter last year! Don’t worry April, you're in good company. There are many quilters who don't get their quilts finished in time!

She quilted this with a design board we have for our renters. I’m not sure of the name, but is has a lot of echoed flowers. It is a very lovely pattern for an edge to edge. This purple quilt gets its divine factor from the use of the ombre. So much fun!

I am sure that you have made many quilts involving your favorite color. Whether it be red, blue, yellow, green, or orange, there are a million different combinations that can result in a piece of art of your own creation. Purple quilts are just one type of divine quilt after all.
