Mountain Memories
Karee was practicing with triangles when she made this abstract sampler quilt. If you look closely you can see some familiar blocks, like pinwheels and friendship stars, stretched out and warped just enough to look new and different. We think she made this with a specialty ruler for playing with triangles. If you know which ruler it is let us know in the comments!
Everyone in the shop loved the cool green, blue, and purple color way Karee used for this quilt. It even had Amy reminiscing about spring mornings in the Appalachian mountains. Amy's memories made Karee's choice of the Lake Susan Pantograph just perfect. When I designed this pantograph I pulled inspiration from my own fond memories of summers spent in Montreat in the Blue Ridge mountains.
Quilts have the ability to bring out strong emotions and memories. When I look at the quilts hanging in my showroom I remember helping my kids piece them or the joy on their faces when they found out they won a ribbon. Do you have a favorite quilt that always reminds you of a loved one or a favorite place?
