Longarm Tutorial: How to Add Batting if You Run Out Before the End of the Quilt Top
I decided to put one of my own quilt tops on my APQS frame and ended up cutting my batting too short! There is an easy way to fix this problem so don't panic if you accidentally do it too. Here's a tutorial on how to fix the issue.
*Edit: I've had some suggestions that are excellent points I wanted to pass on to you.
- If you are using a poly batting, test a scrap of it first with the iron, as some poly batts will get crunchy with direct heat.
- Consider using a serpentine cut and not a straight cut when you are splicing the two pieces of batting together. Using a serpentine line may help reduce stress on the quilting thread lines as the quilt is handled over time.
