The Longarm Guild will be meeting next Wednesday, February 1 at 10:00am at the Quilted Joy showroom. This month we're introducing a new program and discussing favorite tools and templates! Liz volunteered to bring in a few of her favorite tools and templates. She'll show us how she uses them and why she loves them so much! During the meeting we'll also have a sign up sheet for volunteers for the next several months. We want to have a good mix of topics for our monthly program, so you could choose to share grid-based fillers, present a tool or template like Liz, or tell us why you love a particular brand of thread or batting. Think about what you would like to share with the guild and we'll make a plan for the rest of the year! Don’t forget to bring an unfinished top for the “How would you quilt this” segment to get input from others on how to tackle a top and your latest quilts for show and tell. This meeting will also be our first drawing in the guild's UFO challenge! What's a UFO? It's an UnFinished Object, so all those quilts hiding in a closet just waiting to be quilted. If you bring a recently finished quilt (quilted and bound, label preferred but not required) for show and tell, we'll add your name to a jar. At the end of each meeting we'll draw one name. The lucky winner will receive a special prize! We'll save all the names and at the end of the year we'll have a grand prize drawing. The more quilts you finish this year, the better your chances are of winning! I would also really love to freshen the scenery here in the shop - and Liz might like to have a few of her quilts back too ;). If you have any quilts you wouldn't mind letting me borrow, I'd love to display them in the showroom.
