Linda's Bright Sampler Quilt
You know how everyone has a personal fabric style? It is the section of the fabric store that sucks you in and makes your eyes dance. My friend Jennie Beth is drawn to romantic, muted florals. I also have a friend, Vicki, who adores Robyn Pandolph. For me, I adore brights and batiks. They make my little fabric-addicted heart sing.
Linda brought me this sampler and I was immediately smitten. The colors! The funky prints! LOVE IT!
She made this for a lucky girl who is going to have fun snuggling up inside this fun quilt.
I used a black and white polka dot for the backing and it was perfect. The Spin Pantograph added the whimsy and fun to the top. But my favorite element was the wonderful, bright variegated thread I used to bring out all the colors in her quilt. Superior Threads makes a fabulous line of variegated threads called Rainbows which changes colors every inch or so. These fun threads are the party girls of the thread world and work great in my Millennium.
Using a variegated thread in bright primary colors doesn't work on many quilt tops but one with this many fun fabrics stands up well to the party!
Linda loved it and brought me another bright, fun top when she picked this one up. I sure would love to dive into her fabric stash - we'd get along GREAT!
