Joann brought me this quilt made by her mother and there was so much wonderful white space to play within that we decided to go for a custom treatment.

The blocks themselves got the special Ohio star motif I designed for my article in Machine Quilting Unlimited last year.

I have this motif as a free download for all computerized quilting systems over on my patterns section of my website. If you have a computer on your quilting machine pop over and download this motif. It stitches out beautifully.

The sashing motif is one created by Helen Baczynski. I love how it makes a secondary motif where they come together between rows!

There are curls in the inner green border and a scroll design in the outside border which is from One Song Needle Arts.

This is one of those quilts that is really reversible. The back looks awesome!

She also wanted a label which is one of those things that I strongly encourage on family heirlooms like this.  I was happy to embroider one for her that will preserve the history of this quilt for the family.
