Here are a few more renter quilts from this spring... This sweet heart crib-sized top was made by Kym. She had such fun animal prints with foxes and elephants. She chose to continue the theme of hearts by quilting it using our Heart Fancy pantograph. The white thread she selected keeps the top soft and light. Adorable quilt, Kym! Lauren pieced this contemporary top in bright fall colors. Initially, the backing was too small so she had to change her rental to a different day so she could add more fabric to the backing. (Remember, you need four extra inches of backing and batting on each side!) Her backing is very creative, pieced from a variety of fabrics to match the front. Lauren used a neutral quilting thread and the Orange Peel design board to give this quilt a nice overall texture that doesn't steal the focus from the pieced blocks. Valerie has so many colors in this jelly roll top that picking a quilting thread color was difficult! She settled on pink, which glowed nicely on the navy blue backing. It's like getting two quilts for the price of one! Valerie used the Hearts and Flowers design board for this project, a design that fills the quilt with detail and visual interest. This next quilt is Smith Mountain Morning, a Bonnie Hunter design. Sue made this for a relative in colors intended to evoke nature. She quilted it freehand, using a swirling design over the entire top. Because Sue followed Bonnie Hunter's style and made this quilt scrappy, she picked a neutral thread that blended across all those light neutrals and dark browns and greens. Finally, Lynn and Lisa quilt together and often do the same projects. They made these super-cute pumpkin tops last year and brought them in for quilting. Both women worked from the front of the machine and did freehand meanders and loopy designs. Lynn also quilted inside the checkered pumpkins using a form of continuous curve quilting called Terry's twist (named for Sally Terry). Aren't they cute?
