This quilt was a block swap that my friend Eve participated in a long time ago. Each of those blocks was made by one of her cherished internet quilting buddies. She carefully laid the blocks out in the diamond grid and then went to work on her signature applique.

Eve is an amazingly talented applique queen who can make my head spin with her meticulous work.

I've got this quilt up on the design wall right now so I can so some S&S (stand and stare). I know I'm doing a custom treatment on her quilt but I'm not sure what just yet. I'll be doodling on these photos in my computer while I try to decide what approach to take with her top.

I know the flowers and leaves need some definition and a background filler to make them pop. I have to be careful to balance out the quilting on the blocks with the large applique areas. If I don't take care to use the same density the whole quilt will be out of balance and poofiness will take over.
