Most of the fabrics in this quilt were designed by Jo Morton, a much-loved Civil War reproduction fabric designer. The colors are warm and inviting and really are the stars of the quilt. Because of this, Anita asked that we quilt the top simply with a meander and a thread that blended as well as possible.
After trying many colors, including black, dark red, grey, and gold, we picked a thread that was a medium brownish-green color. It actually disappears into the pattern of the floral border, leaving just the texture of the meander. It’s always surprising to see what different thread colors look like when paired with different fabric backgrounds!
Thank you, Anita, for bringing us your top for quilting! Enjoy!
