If you've taken a class with me in the last year or two, you may have heard me talk about one of my dream classes - Big Ass Borders. I've been wanting to teach it for a while, I just had a long list of "but's" for why it couldn't be taught. Show organizers wouldn't be interested, people wouldn't like the name, the list goes on. Well, I've finally decided to go for it!

So what exactly is this Big Ass Borders class? This is a design/draw class in which we’ll be tackling those big borders that can make your heart stop. Have you ever seen a quilt top with borders like this?

The Big Ass Borders Design Class will tackle how to quilt those huge borders!

They have huge swaths of fabric slapped onto the quilt to make it bigger. You maybe find yourself just staring at the top wondering “what am I supposed to put in there?” Take a stand and refuse to be intimidated! In this class we’ll practice the many ways you can transform them into gorgeous, complex borders that are eye popping. Everyone will have a big sheet of drafting paper so you can make your drawings to scale and be ready for the next B.A.B. top you meet.

The Big Ass Borders Design Class will tackle how to quilt those huge borders! A new class from Angela Huffman

I’ll be teaching this class as part of the Longarm Schoolhouse here at Quilted Joy on Friday August 28, 2015 from 8:30am-12:00pm. There are still a few spots left, so be sure to register soon.

I’m so excited to finally be teaching this class!
