Bethanne Nemesh

If you’ve been to a major quilt show in the last few years you’ve probably seen some stunning quilts (usually with a big ribbon on them) by the incredibly talented longarm quilter Bethanne Nemesh. Bethanne is an author, an amazing teacher, and one of my personal quilting heroes. The workmanship in her quilts is stunning, and now you can learn from the woman herself!

I’m so excited to finally announce Bethanne will be teaching 5 classes here at Quilted Joy, September 21-23. There will be 2 hands on longarm classes, 2 design/draw classes, and 1 domestic sewing machine class.

Take a look at the detailed class schedule below. You can register for individual classes or attend all of the classes and lectures through the Bethanne Nemesh Package for $399. Please note there aren’t many spots available in these classes since many of them are hands on classes on our longarm machines. If you’d like to register, do it now so you don’t miss your chance! All fees are fully refundable if you cancel more than 30 days from the event. If you cancel less than 30 days from the event, you are welcome to sell your spot to a friend, but we cannot refund your registration.[hr]

Take on sampler quilts in Bethanne Nemesh's Sampler Quilt Smackdown class

Sampler Quilt Smackdown $49

Sept. 22, 3:30pm-5:30pm

Design/Draw Class

Sampler quilts, with their different blocks can sometimes be the hardest of all to quilt, leading to “stand and stare” syndrome. Bethanne will share her popular mid-custom technique of eliminating back tracking in quilting and the majority of stitch in the ditch while combining piecing elements to create dramatic secondary designs to unify samplers (or any block quilt). Don’t sacrifice the “WOW” factor of custom…but DO give up full custom’s time commitment![hr]

Details can separate a show quilt from an award winning quilt. Learn the techniques from Bethanne Nemesh in her The Devil is in the Details class

Sept. 23, 9am-4pm

Hands On Domestic Machine Quilting Workshop

Required $20 kit fee collected in class

Sometimes the difference between a show quilt and an AWARD WINNING show quilt is in the details. On the judging floor, sometimes one point is all that separates a contestant from a winner. Bethanne will share her unique finish details which have been proven winners in shows across the country in her quilts. Students will make small samples that feature beaded bias applique, beaded piping, swag piping, beaded knife edge binding as well as an introduction to the use of Derwent Inktense pencils. Take your quilting to the next level with masterpiece details!

Don’t forget to bring your domestic sewing machine with zipper foot and moveable needle for this class.
