Besides stitching, there is real beauty in a quilt when you look at color and what fabrics were chosen to complete an effect. We have the pleasure of seeing all sorts of designs and color schemes from the artists that rent our machines. Pink and Green Sampler For Janet’s rental certification class, she brought in this beautiful pink quilt. I love the different shades of pink with green. And the pop of black just sets in so nicely. She completed it with a meander design board. Disapperaing Pinwheel #5 Valerie created this blue green piece with a disappearing pinwheel pattern. The blocks are all uniformly oriented, but the variety of blues and greens gives a nice movement to the piece. She finished it with a free hand meander. Square in A Square This is another quilt from Valerie. You might recognize the fabrics from the previous quilt. Again a lovely blend of blues and greens! I really enjoy the white border inside the squares and not just background around the squares. The fabrics depict dragonflies and with the freehand meander, you can imagine the path these little fliers would have made. Tahoe Quilt This quilt from Valerie called Tahoe, is created from solid fabrics. I find it bright and colorful. It is quilted with our Turbulance pantograph. The round swirls are a nice contrast to the sharp corners and straight edges of her southwestern styled top. Chevron Quilt Judy and Valerie frequently come in together, and sometimes we forget who quilted which quilt! I think this fun chevron quilt was also Valerie's. I just love the fabric choice. Using the same designs for each zigzag but with different colors just gives a very unifying feel, while at the same time giving us the progression of color. From rainbow to monochromatic, color can add to your quilt's design!
