1930's Flying Geese Garden
My favorite part is the border. She plans to scallop the border so I kept the motif 2" off the sides which will give her room to make the scallops. The best part is the feather ellipses. Joan will use those to form the scallop and they will work just perfectly together. I quilted the interior of the top just like the magazine photo Joan brought me when she dropped off her quilts. The flying geese have a continuous curve. The flowers have leaf stems and petals. The background is a loopy-loo meander. I used a white Sew Fine in the top and white Coats &Clark prewound in the bobbin. Batting is Hobbs Heirloom 80/20. Such a happy Spring quilt! On the frame now is this amazingly flat and square Star of Bethlehem. This one is going to be a show stopper.
