Tucker University: Corner Beam
Ready to add a little more sparkle and movement to your quilt blocks? In this Tucker University class, you’ll learn to use the Studio 180 Design Corner Beam® tool to create precise, eye-catching Corner Beam units with beautifully sharp points.
The Corner Beam unit may look complicated, but Studio 180 Design’s oversize-and-trim technique takes the guesswork out of construction. You’ll learn how to accurately cut your pieces, assemble the unit, and trim it to the perfect finished size for consistent, precise results.
We’ll also explore the Sliver technique, which takes the Corner Beam unit a step further and opens up even more design possibilities. You’ll discover how combining Corner Beam and Sliver units can create blocks with interesting twists, turns, and movement—designs that look much more complex than the piecing actually is!
As with all Tucker University classes, the goal isn't simply to make one project. You’ll learn how to use the tool, understand the fundamental unit, and recognize how Corner Beam units can be incorporated into other quilt designs.
By the end of class, you'll have a new technique in your quilting toolbox and the confidence to tackle patterns featuring Corner Beam units with greater accuracy and ease.
